Welcome to the Library Corner. Our own librarian Mrs. Poirier, will be updating this page with recommended books, news and events and recommended classics. A new feature has also been added to the site called Book Reviews where students can write about the books they’ve read recently. What a great way to find out what others are reading and to share! Stay tuned!

Mrs. P.’s Picks

Lots of great books have been read so far,so don’t forget to share your reviews (even if they are not positive).

If you’re not sure what you want to read next, why not give these a try:

Peter and the secret of Rundoon by Dave Barry : the third installment of the Peter Pan story.

Julia Gillian (and the art of knowing) by Alison McGhee : a ten-year old girl, who knows a lot, finds out how valuable friends and family are, and has some pretty funny adventures along the way.

Schooled by Gordon Korman : from living in a commune and being home-schooled, to attending public school, a story of trying to fit in at middle school.

The St. John Fisher Junior and Senior Campus Fundraising Program FundScrip Gift Cards

How it works:

Families in the school purchase FundScrip gift certificates, at cash value for local merchants (groceries, gas, entertainment, clothing etc.) and the school receives a percentage rebate from FundScrip for using their services.
Things you should know:

You do not have to buy anything you don’t need.
You can purchase groceries, gas, clothing, home renovations, restaurants, you name it they have it!
Profits range from 2% – 15% for each gift card purchased.
FundScrip pays the rebate profit to the school.
